Crunch Win Season Opener

News By North Texas Crunch

(North Texas Indoor Professional Football Team, Heartland, TX) - A new score board, turf and uniforms for the North Texas Crunch for their open game for the 2009 season at Covenant Ranch. But there was only one problem no dasher boards. The North Texas Crunch dashers boards were unable to be delivered on time for their game. So the Crunch had to play their 2009 season opener at Blue Sky Sports Center located in Colony Texas. The North Crunch rallied for come-from-behind, 28-26 victory, over the visiting DFW Doom on Saturday after noon.

DFW Doom led 26-20 entering the fourth quarter, but did not score in the final period. Thanks to the Crunch defense having not just one not just two but three goal line stands in the fourth quarter. The Crunch offense was lead by QB-Derrick Dickerson throwing three TD's and running for one, WR- Guy Fernandez two receiving TD's and a two point conversion, WR- Veron Ray one receiving TD and a 48 yard kick return, K-Tanner Satterwhite going 2 for 2 on PATS and former Greenville High RB- Quinton Jones lead the crunch in rushing with 7 carries for 68 years.
