About Ben Johnson
I graduated from McKeesport Area High School in 1997. I attended Washington and Jefferson College my freshman year and played the flanker position for the Div. III Presidents.
After my freshman year I transferred to the University of Pittsburgh where I joined the Panthers football team as a walk-on cornerback. I spent my Division I experience on the scout team. In 2000 I was awarded the Defensive Prep Player of the Year award for my hardwork.
I didn't stay with the football program for my fifth year and began playing cornerback for the semi-professional Pittsburgh Colts. I played with the Colts from 2001-2005.
I've been to numerous tryouts between those years trying to make something happen when finally I got an opportunity to play professional indoor football. I played with the Steubenville Stampede in 2006 and started four games at cornerback. In 2007, under a new coaching staff, I played free safety. I played in the third game of the season and received an injury that put me out for the year.
I didn't like the way my football career ended and I want to get another shot. I can play either side of the ball.
